Field Report by Bishop Lloyd Chizenga
Update on areas of ministry, its success setbacks and challenges.
As a ministry we have successed to reach to most of the rural areas and reach "M" communities. We have managed to start pre school for orphans in 3 different areas tottalling to 370 orphans cared under such difficulty circumstances.
We have managed to respond to HIV/AIDs by caring for those who are are on ARVs but needs suplement foods. We are working to serve 84 patients with food assistance. Our set backs have been that most of these programs are carried without support from any local NGOs or from the government. Our outreaches this year have been so wonderful though. We saw people being healed ,people being freed from demons, thousands committing to God and "M"s coming to Christ. Churches have been planted. The only challenges are that most of our leaders need training, most of the churches needs iron sheets for roofing. Youth ministry is vibrant and needs some young people from your country to come have meetings with these fellow youths.
The number of people affected by GFA ministry partnership is about 30-40 thousands in the remote areas of Malawi.
I dont have permant staff only volonteers due to lack of funds. These are: Alick-Adm doing good volunteer work, Dixion our secratary, and Kaira our accountant with Anf Philmon.
Our local board members are as follows, Basikolo Treasure, Kabaya, Chikaonda Secretory , L. Chizenga Chairman, Timothy Roda.
My personal observations are that we could do more and transform many commnities for Christ if we were responding to the needs of the people in order to open the door to share the Gospel. We see even greater impact potential if GFA can help with organizing men and women who could help us in: education, farming, health, and any bussines help.Taking the whole gospel to people, by seeing our deeds will increase the number of those that accept the Lord whom we serve. I recommend that once a year GFA should invite its leaders from Africa for fund raising in US and cement relationships.
Ministry plans
I expect to visit church centers that are reachable during rain season, January to June twice a month. I also plan to visit different centers in July up to November to have seminars, and outreaches in areas that are unreachable during the rainy season.
Some of my needs are as follows:
In January , May , and Sptember my needs are higher because of school fees for my girls and boys in Secondary School and primary. Apart from my up keep. which I always thank you for, I am in need of funds for the visting rural churches.
Prayer request:
I am looking and praying about two business opportunities that would help us be self-sustaining in ministry. 1) Maize mill. 2). Mini-bus for tranporting people to work every day. Please pray with me about God's provision. These kind of projects would help me and churches to function properly without always asking for help. Out of that we would pay tithes, help the orphans and use part of it in the propagation of the gospel as well as caring for my family.
May God Bless you and bless the American people.
In him,
Lloyd.
