Urgent Prayer:

Biu, Nigeria 10/19/09

Our Dear Praying Friends,

Over 10 people continue to die daily in the town of Biu over the past two weeks because of an outbreak of Cholera. A Quarantine camp is now just 300 meters from our home, and about 600 meters from our hospital. Most patients come to us at the hospital, and then through to the UN supported quarantine camp.

Thank you for your continued prayers and I humbly ask for more prayers for Gods intervention. Please pray for our protection as we help and support victims. We have been distributing glucose to the victims who are very quickly dehydrated and die just within hours. Pray for personal hygiene of the Biu community. Pray for the Local Government to sincerely commit to cleaning the dirty drinking water which is the major cause of this outbreak. The victims are mostly unsaved women and children, and we are sharing the love of Jesus Christ to dying patients who are receiving Christ.

Finally, please pray against the violence that has broken out in Biu from the enforcement of our Governments law to have motorcycle operators wear protective crash helmets. Many “M” object to this law and we are huddled in our homes at night as the police station is being burned. Pray our church and hospital are not targeted and that peace will come upon Biu.

Thank you for your prayers, and God Bless You All,

Ari
